Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art and a self defense system that emphasizes taking the fight to the ground (i.e. ground fighting) by applying throws, chokeholds and joint manipulations on an opponent to defeat the opponent. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu promotes the concept that a smaller person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique and the principles of leverage. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is practised by utilizing the traditional uniform called the Gi..

No-Gi

No-Gi grappling is basically Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the use of the Gi. In No-Gi grappling, practitioners wear rash guards and sport shorts. Generally the pace is faster and the same elements of throws, chokeholds and joint manipulations on an opponent are present.

Wrestling

In our wrestling classes, we emphasize takedowns and throws. This involves off-balancing an opponent and taking him or her to the ground, typically with the attacker landing on top.

Ladies Classes

This once a week class is open exclusively for our female members to train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A ladies only class may be more inviting and will put a beginner more at ease especially if she has no prior experience in sports or martial arts. This class focuses on fitness and technique, with self-defense applications.

Junior Warriors

This is our once a week class for our younger members (aged between 5 to 13). This class covers the beginner adult class curriculum in a more fun and kid friendly environment. The kids will learn teamwork and develop individual self-esteem and self-discipline while learning to respect themselves and others.
